Residual Income
Residual Income is a term used for those who want to create a continuing revenue stream rather than a one-time payment or hourly wage. Many people are flocking all over the internet either creating their own informational product or purchasing the re-sell rights to an existing package. Some will even consider working with google ads or affiliates as a way to earn residual income.
According to Marty Foley residual income is simply “is income that continues to be generated after the initial effort has been expended. Compare this to what most people focus on earning: linear income, which is "one-shot" compensation or payment in the form of a fee, wage, commission or salary.”

Who can do this? Just about anyone who has the time and resources to set up what is needed.

What should you sell? This is something you will have to discover on your own. Try an auction house such as eBay.com to see what is selling currently on the market now. Do a search on the web to find out what informational products seem to be most in demand. Then either purchase, re-sell rights or create your own product to sell.  When joining some of the affiliate programs, thing small and big. There are companies that sell one product with an affiliate program or there are those that showcase existing companies looking for partners to enlist others for advertising their products online.  The goal is simply to generate residual income.
Where can you do this? This is primarily an internet creation to generate continuous profit, but by being inventive, you could create a positive cash flow on and offline.

Why should you do this? Actually the question should be why not? Give it a try and see what you can sell or create to sell to earn residual income. Perhaps the income might encourage you further. Join an affiliate program or more than a couple of them and place the ads on your website. If you have a hard time finding residual income affiliate programs, I encourage you to take a look at a site called Lifetime Commissions.com. This site reviews affiliate programs that pay lifetime commissions and residual income. You do the work once and get paid over and over again.Join Google Ads and see what income you can earn with targeted ads to your website/pages.

When creating a product, many things should be considered. A checklist for creating an informational product should seem to cover all aspects.

1.Need a Product – generate ideas.

2.Create a Product – various ways to create an eBook, eProduct, or files you can sell. Some use html, some use executable files, and many use PDF to display or contain their content. Using a more security conscious creation method can have its ups and downs, whereas for example a PDF file with encryption might be too complicated for the audience you are targeting, but might help protect your works better than using a Word file since there is less security with them.

3.Product Name – create something catchy, simple, but yet strong enough to draw in your potential customers. I have heard it can be all in the name.

4.Product Price – check out competition and other products to compare prices. How many products are you bundling with it?

5.Website – to sell your product(s). Learning the code or program and setting up a shopping cart system for purchases.

6.Hosting for the website – free hosting is not recommended to appear professional.

7.Email address – most professional if from your own domain. Using FREE accounts can cause problems and make you appear cheap.

8.EBay account or Auction house account – sign up is usually free, and will allow you to sell your products online in an alternate way.

9.PayPal or another online payment system – eBay bought out PayPal and is most widely used across the internet. This is fast way to access your residual income.

Creating your own product is one thing, re-selling someone else’s work is another ball game. Some general advice on purchasing re-sell rights is that you should make sure that you have been given proper identification of your right to sell an informational product that you have purchased. Make sure what you sell is legit or you can face fines, loss of accounts, or even have to face a judge in court. Understand the laws of copyright and do not plagiarize or copy other peoples work. Your goal again is to build residual income, not to lose it all in penalties.
